Although I edit on my own at home and outside of school, I really enjoyed editing in class. I learned a lot more shortcuts, filters, tips, and hacks for Final Cut Pro that I never even thought of using at home. I also liked how we had the freedom to use multiple kinds of transitions, filters, titles, and editing tools. Another thing I really enjoyed was if you forgot to hit white balance on the camera while filming and the color in the footage is off, you can fix that with just the click of a button! I really look forward to continue using Final Cut Pro and expanding my knowledge on this fantastic software!

For the video scavenger hunt, we were told to go around our school and find and record a series of shots. The shots that allowed us to get really up close and personal (tight shots) were my favorite because they gave me a sense of creativity. For the shot "Something Red", my group and I found a bright red car in the parking lot and used it to our advantage. I angled the camera so the viewer could only see a portion of the car, while allowing it's shine, design, color, and aesthetic to create a beautiful composition all on it's own. I am very excited to be using Final Cut Pro on this project because, as i sated in my last blog post, I believe it gives the creator a lot more freedom than iMovie does. For the next project, I would really like to play around with music, and more editing to see what else we can do with our footage. I work with Final Cut Pro outside of class but I really wanna see what I can make at school, as well! I loved this project and I am looking forward to what I will make in the future!
Our first project in Broadcasting Technology was to create an iMovie trailer about ourselves. I included all of the things that I believe truly define me as a person; my family. my brain surgery back in 2011, my love for dogs, hobbies, and interests. I really liked how the music was edited to play with the pictures chosen by the arist themselves; it makes the video more powerful. I also really like how iMovie auto-animated everything because it's helpful for beginners who are new to technology such as iMovie. I really liked this project, but I am looking forward to doing more in-depth and challenging projects and using Final Cut Pro rather than the default iMovie application. Although iMovie is a very fun and useful app, I believe you can make even more powerful videos on a software such as Final Cut Pro due to it's larger variety of editing tools. I'm excited for what's next this semester!
