In the story Adoption, Steve Hartman learns about the life of a married couple and their child, and how they became foster parents over the years. She starts off by saying that she is boring and has no story to tell, but by the end. Hartman reiterates and says how this "boring woman" has a lot to tell. regarding Hey, You, See, So, he starts off by addressing the people, asks them questions about their life, states facts about their life, and leaves the audience with the message: What can you do to make the world a better place? In the video Soul Food, he also goes along the same premise. He first introduces the character, has them explain what they do, states facts that aren't visible during the video, and leaves us with the same message: What can we do to be a better person/make the world a better place? Steve Hartman has a wonderful ability to make the audience feel inspired to do something good. Even when the story may not even seem that interesting, a lesson can always be learned.
